SUNLIGHT 101

Sunlight contains both visible and invisible rays or waves:  long waves are harmless to our skin and shorter waves like UV light rays can penetrate deeper into the skin.  UV rays can cause problems on our skin’s delicate processes which affect the health and appearance of the skin.  The skin becomes less elastic, wrinkly, leathery, or even thin as tissue paper.

APPLY SUNSCREEN LUXURIOUSLY

Apply the equivalent of a shot glass of sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 or higher to all exposed areas.  Re-apply sunscreen approximately every two hours and immediately after swimming or sweating.  Be extra cautious when you are near water, concrete, or sand as they reflect and intensify sun rays.

LOVE YOUR LARGE BRIMMED HAT

Sure, baseball caps are a cute fashion accessory but they don't give you enough sun protection.  Opt for a large brimmed hat that can give shade to your face, neck and chest for best protection.

INCLUDE THOSE EASY TO FORGET AREAS

One of the areas that are easily forgotten is your scalp.  Spray a mineral sunscreen throughout your scalp since your hair only gives you limited protection.

Your eyes need protection too!  Do wear sunglasses that block out harmful UV rays and protect your beautiful eyes.

The top of your feet and toes also need a full dose of sunscreen!
